Ooltewah High selected for Unum externship program
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County Schools announced a team teachers from Ooltewah High School have been selected to participate in the 2017 Unum School Team Externship Program.
The team from Ooltewah includes CTE Department Chair Heidi Moses, Principal Robin Copp, Guidance Counselor Tracy Manning, English 11 Teacher & Yearbook Sponsor Taylor Flynn, and English IB 12 & AP English Teacher Mark Hamby.
The School Team Externship Program is in its first year. The program aims to help Tennessee teachers learn how businesses work and understand the expertise that is important for the workforce of the future.
According to Hamilton County Schools, the team of teachers from Ooltewah will spend a week in June with the Unum Group of Chattanooga learning about industry technologies and applied skills as well as meeting with professionals in the company.
