Ooltewah Man Starts Non-Profit for Ukraine
OOLTEWAH, Tennessee (WDEF) – Doing what he can to assist people in his home country, Ooltewah resident Alexander Bormotov has started a non-profit.
The non-profit is called Go 4 Life, and it’s an answer to the question — what can we do to help.
“We started to organize volunteers in Ukraine and collecting money here and sending them to Ukraine, so they would have at least a chance to fill up their personal vehicles with gas and buy at least a little bit of groceries and bring to people who need it.”
Bormotov is from Kyiv and has family there as Russian forces encroach.
“My brother there, my cousin, my aunt, and a lot of friends, like, we call friends people that we really know, we eat together; sometimes we sleep at each others’ house together. So, these people are really like relatives to me, and I’m constantly in contact with them, because because I don’t know — will it be the last time I talk to them.”
In addition to getting Ukranian’s out of Russian controlled territory, the money donated will also help to get supplies into that territory, getting food, medicine, and other provisions to Ukranians in need.
“Ukranian government is not capable to deliver food or gas to this territory because it’s occupied by Russian soldiers.”
Boromotov said that only a few days ago, GO 4 LIFE was able to assist in evacuating 42 civilians.
All money donated to GO 4 LIFE goes directly to humanitarian aid.
