Ooltewah Middle School student arrested after bomb threat
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — An Ooltewah Middle School student was arrested after making bomb threats.
On August 8, 2024, a staff member contact the School Resource Deputy at 11:30 a.m. saying a student has made a threat.
The deputy responded to the classroom to speak with the teacher.
The teacher was told a student said they had an explosive in their backpack and that they would blow up the school.
Other staff members and witnesses who heard the threat provided statements to the deputy, and the student was taken into custody.
The deputy searched the students backpack, but no explosives were found.
The student was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and is being charged with Threat of Mass Violence.
