Ooltewah Retires Sammy Seamster’s Number 8 Jersey

Ooltewah-TN (WDEF) Ooltewah high school honored former football standout Sammy Seamster on Thursday by retiring his number eight jersey.

Seamster was back on campus for the special ceremony.
The super fast Seamster starred as a defensive back and receiver, and he also ran track and played hoops.
Seamster wound up with a football scholarship to Middle Tennessee State.
And this fall, he suited up for his rookie year in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins.
Said Seamster,"It’s going to actually feel weird for awhile seeing my number retired. Nobody can wear number 8 anymore because of me. You hope to leave a mark when you play, and I got to do that."

Seamster played in the Dolphins first two games this year.
But unfortunately, he’ll miss the rest of the season after injuring his collarbone.
