Ouamri bicycle kick gives Chattanooga FC the win
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- Despite a downpour, Chattanooga FC emerged victorious over visiting New England Revolution II with a score of 1-0. This win puts the Boys in Blue back on top of the MLS NEXT Pro league table.
The opening half was a tense affair. The heavy rain forced a cautious approach from both teams, resulting in a cagey match with limited scoring opportunities. Strong goalkeeping on both sides kept the score level at halftime, with each team registering just two shots on target.
The second half saw a shift in momentum as Chattanooga tightened up their defense, stifling New England’s attack. A crucial goal line clearance by Farid Sar-Sar in the 69th minute preserved the clean sheet for CFC.
The turning point came in the 72nd minute when New England defender Tiago Suarez was shown a second yellow card and sent off. Just eight minutes later, CFC capitalized on their numerical advantage. Forward Mehdi Ouamri delivered a stunning bicycle kick from a set piece, expertly assisted by a Jude Arthur header.
This dramatic goal secured all three points for Chattanooga and propelled them back to the top of the league table.
