Pat Summit Foundation grant recipients announced

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Pat Summitt Foundation announced its 2024 grant recipients. Some of those recipients serve Rhea, McMinn and Monroe Counties in Tennessee.

The foundation gave more than $200,000 worth of grants, reaching more than 50 Tennessee counties.

These grants are meant to continue Coach Summitt’s mission of fighting Alzheimer’s Disease.

Concord United Methodist Church

The church’s CADES project serves Rhea, Blount, Knox and Loudon Counties in Tennessee. It helps older adults who are not able to stay home due to Alzheimer’s, dementias, social isolation, mobility problems and more.

Monroe County Senior Citizens and Friends

The Redefining Memory project serves McMinn, Blount and Loudon Counties. It is focused on improving brain health and education. It also provides support to caregiving families of those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Our Place Company

Our Place Company serves McMinn, Monroe, Blount, Knox and Roane Counties. It provides care to patients and support to caregivers. It also aims to enhance outreach and educational programming.

This project incorporates research-based therapeutic programming through Zinnia TV.
