Pawpaw’s Homeless Ministry hosts Easter Celebration for Chattanooga’s unhoused community

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Pawpaw’s Homeless Ministry will host an Easter celebration this Thursday, April 2, for Chattanooga’s unhoused community.

The event will provide 100 Easter baskets, toiletry bags, and tables filled with free children’s clothing for those in need.

Organizers say the evening will also include a full meal, featuring pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, beverages, and more.

Founder Mike Rice says events like this are only possible because of the support from volunteers in the community.

“You will get a blessing as well. Just come this Thursday and volunteer. Any Thursday is appreciated, but this one is special. It is for Easter, to show your love for others during the holiday,” Rice said.

The event is set to begin at 5 p.m. at the corner of 11th Street and Peeples Street and is open to members of Chattanooga’s unhoused community.

Organizers encourage anyone interested in helping to reach out and volunteer, saying even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
