Pedestrian struck and killed near North Sand Mountain High

Jackson County, Alabama (WDEF) — A pedestrian was hit and killed earlier today near North Sand Mountain High School.

Our CBS partners at WHNT in Huntsville report that the 14-year-old male was killed on Highway 71, not far from the high school.

It happened just before 3 p.m.

Officials do not have anyone in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
