Pet of the Week: Bark Vader
Meet News 12’s Pet of the Week, Bark Vader!
This adorable pup is searching for a Jedi master to guide him toward the light side of the Force.
Despite his powerful name, Bark is more Anakin than Darth.
He’s sweet, spirited, and full of potential with no interest in the dark side.
The Humane Educational Society describes Bark as a happy, affectionate, and playful pup who’s eager to learn and ready to love.
At just over 4 months old, Bark thrives on encouragement and positive reinforcement.
He’s nearly house-trained, especially when kept on a schedule and given access to a crate—something he happily uses for naps, especially when treats are involved!
Bark already knows how to “sit” on command (for a treat, of course!) and is currently working on “wait,” “down,” and “heel.”
He’s incredibly responsive to training—often all it takes is a firm “no” to redirect him.
He loves playing with toys, other dogs, and people, and he walks well on a leash—making him a great companion for strolls or hikes.
Bark also gets along well with cats and children.
While he can be a little shy around new people at first, a soft voice and some gentle pets are all it takes for him to warm up.
If you or someone you know is ready to bring this young Padawan home, reach out to the Humane Educational Society to meet Bark Vader today!
