Pets celebrate Halloween with HES ‘Paws in the Park’

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – It was a beautiful day in the Scenic City and a lot of you got out of the house including some pet owners in who are already ready for Halloween – and their furry family members too.

They showed off their costumes at Ross’s Landing for The Humane Education Society’s Paws in the Park event.

They kicked off the annual event with a dog walk along the river.

Organizers say they also raised money for the shelter.

HES Development Director Taylor says, “A lot of it also goes to our special needs fund which is for our animals that are strays that may have been hit by a car that are young and just need surgery to have a second chance to find a home or maybe they have some kind of illness and that’s something that is very important to us that we love to be able to do.”

The organization also dressed up the animals that don’t have a forever home in hopes of helping them find one.
