Phil Massey Takes Over CCS Team That Features One of the Area’s Top Players

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Our 30-in-30 high school football preview series tackles Chattanooga Christian.
While there’s some big changes for CCS, they will still feature one of the top players in our area.

The CCS Chargers are getting re-charged this fall.
Said lineman Devoris Havis:”We got new players. New quarterback. We are excited to see what we are going to do this year.”
And the Chargers got a new head coach is Baylor’s Phil Massey.
Said Massey:”There’s some adjustment along the way, but I think that’s what makes it a lot of fun too. Just the challenge of creating that chemistry and that bond where we are all working together and trying to help our young men here at CCS tp be successful and be their bery best.”
Said Havis:”New playbook is the only difference. He’s a great guy. He loves God man, and he loves us.”
You can bet Coach Massey is thanking God Boo Carter is on his team.
The dynamic play-maker has over 30 college scholarship offers.
Said Massey:”Well having a young man like Boo Carter on your team obviously raises the expectations of all the kids around him, so he can definitely raise their level of play as well. And that’s the thing I’ve stressed to Boo is about his opportunity to be such a positive leader on this team, and I think he’s going take that and run with it and do really, really well.”
Chargers may have a luxury at quarterback too.
They return senior Lane Travis, and they got a talented transfer in Jordan Gile.
Said Massey:”But obviously as a coach, you never want to be in a situation where you only have one quarterback, and if one goes down, you’ve got to have somebody step in there, so having competition. Anytime you can have competition at positions is always good.”
