Pigeon Forge working to fix traffic issue
Westside connector project underway
PIGEION FORGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – One lasting memory for a summer trip to Pigeon Forge is the traffic.
More than 50,000 vehicles use the Parkway every year, many of them tourists for Dollywood, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and all the shops and restaurants in between.
So, the city has been working on how to ease the situation.
They are building bypasses for the locals on both the east and west sides.
Veterans Boulevard is already up and running on one side.
Now construction is underway on phase one of the Westside connector. That should be finished by this fall.
The complete Westside connector project should take three to four years to wrap up.
