Pipe Bombs found after man shows up at hospital with explosion wounds
PALMER, Tennessee (WDEF) – Grundy County officials release information on a pipe bomb case from over the weekend.
On Saturday night, 33 year old Carl James Arnold showed up at an emergency room in Dunlap with wounds consistent with an explosion.
The hospital contacted law enforcement.
Investigators were joined by ATF, FBI and THP officers to check out his home on Stagecoach Road in Palmer.
They say they found three more PVC pipe containers that were about three feet long.
After x-rays, they found ammunition inside.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office says they also found 70 pounds of marijuana , $7,700 in cash and four weapons, including a fully automatic Glock handgun.
Arnold was flown to a hospital with injuries to his hand, abdomen and face.
They have not filed any charges at this point, but the investigation is continuing.
