Plan Chattanooga holds open house to discuss future plans for city

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Plan Chattanooga held an open house on Wednesday for Hamilton County residents to talk about their future development plans.

Chattanooga could be seeing more new businesses, living areas and outdoor activities in the upcoming years.

“We want to hear from people in the community. We want to get an idea of how and where they want to see growth happen in the future. So, we know growth is coming, but we want to manage it well and not lose the things that make this area so great to start with,” said Director of Community Planning and Design Karen Hundt.

Hundt also said they have seen a drop in the average age in Chattanooga.

That could be the reason apartments are becoming the norm.

They want to do their best to keep Chattanooga’s beauty while also expanding.
