Plans for Chattanooga’s First Boutique Hotel Discussed
Hotel plans were approved Monday by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission.
However, they still need to be approved by the city council before work can be done.
Vision Hospitality Group says their 5-floor, 90-room building would sit at the end of the Walnut Street Bridge.
It would include a restaurant, rooftop lounge, and pool.
Helen Burns Sharp, a Chattanooga Resident, says, "In fact, in my case, it’s not self interest because I’m going to lose my view of most of the Bluff View Art District and of the sunrise over Missionary Ridge. But on the other hand, in terms of most good for the community, this looks like this could be a perfect fit. We really do need to be careful that goes in the way it’s presented now."
If the city council approves the hotel plans, Vision Hospitality Group would like to break ground next summer and finish construction in 2016.
