Police arrest two men related to Market Street shooting

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police arrested two men in relation to a shooting that happened on April 6.

On that day, police say Ja’Marie Jones fired shots on the 1900 block of Market Street.

No one was injured. However, the police department charged Jones with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment.

He had standing warrants as well. Those included evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance and theft of property. Those warrants were from other jurisdictions.

Chattanooga Police arrested Georral Davis, too.

Davis was with Jones at the time of the shooting.

Officers arrested Davis on various outstanding warrants:

  • Evading arrest (x2),
  • Possession of a controlled substance,
  • Possession of a firearm with intent to go armed,
  • Drugs general category for resale,
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia,
  • Possession of a firearm during a felony,
  • Aggravated criminal trespass (x2).

The CPD arrested the two on Dodson Avenue, and then booked both men into the Silverdale Detention Center.
