RED BANK, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man is on the run after stealing a car and evading police. Now, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying this suspect.

Police learned about a 2004 Ford Expedition being stolen on Wednesday, June 21, out of Red Bank. The next day, Thursday, a deputy located the stolen Ford on Manchester Drive near Thrushwood Drive.

The deputy tried to block in the suspect with his patrol vehicle, but the suspect reversed and rammed through. According to HCSO, a chase began at that point.

They state the suspect drove “extremely recklessly on rain-slick roads.” Soon after, the suspect lost control, struck a utility pole and crashed through a wooden fence, according to the sheriff’s office. They state this happened on Mountain Creek Road, near the W Road.

The driver fled on foot into the woods, according to police.

HCSO, with additional agencies, searched the area but yielded no results.

From last notice, the sheriff’s office has not yet identified the suspect.

A deputy also found a firearm in the Ford, which did not belong to the vehicle’s true owner.

The HCSO asks the public to inform them of any information that could help identify this suspect. You can contact the sheriff’s office at 423-622-0022.
