Police say gas pump skimmer suspects part of organized crime ring

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga police have made arrests in the gas pump skimmer case from last week.

Investigators say they caught the suspects red handed attaching the devices to pumps at a couple of Mapco locations.

They believe the suspects are port of a multi-state organized crime ring.

Police took more devices into custody, along with two laptops.

The suspects are from Florida.

These skimmers were put inside the pumps and read through a Bluetooth transmitter.
