Police warn about gas pump skimmers in our area

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga police report a credit card skimming device found at a gas station in Hixson.

An employee found them during a routine check at the Kangaroo station on Hixson Pike.

He found skimmers on eight of the gen gas pumps.

The devices memorize account information from payment cards.

Police warn us that if you see the anti-tampering seal has been broken or the machine appears abnormal, don’t use it and tell the store manager.

Also, using your card as credit gives you greater protection.

And paying inside with the cashier is also safer.
