Politician, activist John Jay Hooker has died

Nashville, TN (WDEF) – It’s with sadness that we’ve learned of the passing of John Jay Hooker Jr., well-know political figure, attorney, and activist from Nashville, TN. He was 85.

U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander today released the following statement: “John Jay Hooker Jr.’s remarkable personality spread a bright light across Tennessee government and politics for a half century. He had friends everywhere. Honey and I will greatly miss his enthusiasm, his sense of purpose, and his friendship."
