Pop-up project teams with East Side Elementary for De Colores

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Local non-profit “Pop-up Project” is hosting a free parade and show tomorrow at Coosa Mill.

They teamed up with East Side Elementary School in January, and taught students dance routines for tomorrow’s event.De Colores

The event is called De Colores.

The parade will begin at 5 p.m. at East Side Elementary.

It will end at Coosa Mill, with the dance performance to follow.

Performers include 3rd through 5th grade East Side students, Pop-up Project and Playful Evolving Monsters.

A taco truck will be on site as well.

Everyone is invited to support these students and all of their hard work.

“We believe dance is a tool for community engagement, to build relationships across differences,” said Jules Downum, Director of the Pop-up Project. “And so, we’re really excited anytime we can work with people who don’t normally have a chance to dance.”
