Poplar Springs Road reopens 2 months ahead of schedule
RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) — Poplar Springs Road in Ringgold has reopened two months ahead of schedule, according to Catoosa County Public Information Officer John Pless.
Crews began stormwater improvements to the area in mid-March.
Pless said the work was completed ahead of schedule. They originally expected to complete the job by mid-August. But officials credit the early completion to good weather, excellent work by contract crews and timely delivery of equipment.
Crews excavated Poplar Springs Road and installed dozens of large box culverts.
County officials said these improvements should help the drainage along the road.
“The reopening of Poplar Springs Road is a welcome relief for folks who commute through the county and especially those who travel from Ringgold to Chickamauga,” Pless stated.
