Portion of Poplar Springs Road to close through mid-August
CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A portion of Poplar Springs Road in Catoosa County will be closed for approximately five months, according to the county.
The Catoosa Department of Transportation will close the road from Alabama Highway to Holcomb Road to make stormwater drainage repairs.
The closure will begin Friday, March 15 and last through mid-August.
“CTI Engineers have designed large box culverts to be installed to remedy the flash flooding that forces the closure of Poplar Springs Road,” Catoosa County officials said.
These closures will allow through traffic for residents, school traffic and those visiting businesses and churches along the road. But Poplar Springs will be closed to all traffic at the work zones.
There will be detour signage posted.
The county also said, “Parents and school buses for Ringgold Elementary School will continue along Poplar Springs Road to Evitt Lane, while parents and school buses for Ringgold Primary School will use Holcomb Road to Evitt Lane.”
