Portion of Thatch Road to close March 23 to April 15

The Hamilton County Highway Department will have Thatch Road closed between Island View Drive and 12803 Thatch Road beginning March 23, 2026. The road will remain closed through April 15, 2026, according to the Office of the Hamilton County Mayor.

They say this closure is necessary for a large box culvert replacement project.

Detour routes will be posted, directing traffic from Thatch Road to Birchwood Pike, then to Henry Road.

Local residents will have access to and from their homes during this time. Access to TVA land can be reached via the detour using Henry Road.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
