ROME, Ga. (WDEF)- President Trump spoke for over an hour inside the Coosa Steel Corporation in Rome.

It was there that he spoke on a variety of topics, including his endorsement of Clay Fuller, who took center stage during the president’s remarks.

Fuller proclaimed next to the President, “Beside me is the greatest president in our country’s history.”

President Trump went on to state about Fuller, “Yeah, I heard what he said. I loved what he said. It just made me feel even stronger about him. He’s an incredible young guy. I think he’s going to be a total winner. That is what we want.”

Fuller says receiving this endorsement in such a crowded field means everything to him.

He said, “It’s the honor of a lifetime, just an incredible experience. It was absolutely surreal to go out to Air Force One, welcome the president to North Georgia, and then be called up on stage to talk about how his agenda has been successful for the people here.”

President Trump says this race is just one of several Republicans need to win to maintain control of Congress. He also endorsed Mike Collins in the Senate race over former Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley in the race to challenge incumbent Senator Jon Ossoff.

Collins said, “I’m to kick Jon Ossoff out of office, and I’m going to fight for Georgia and for our country.”

The President also refrained from mentioning former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who in recent days the President has called a traitor.

He spent much of the speech talking about economic policy, defending the impact of his tariffs.

The President, speaking about the Coosa Steel Corporation, “It’s great to see a place like this. As you know, about a year and a half ago it wasn’t so vibrant. I’m looking at all this brand-new steel and equipment that just went up because of our tariffs.”

Fuller says this day, in his view, will supercharge the rest of his campaign.

He said, “We’re going to continue to be on TV, send mail, and try to talk to as many people as possible. We’re going to be knocking on doors. We just have to be the hardest-working campaign out there, talk to as many voters as we can, and make sure they understand that we are the Trump-endorsed candidate.”

Early voting has already begun, and the Special Election is on March 10, with a possible runoff on April 6.
