Price of Valentine’s chocolate and dinner has skyrocketed over last decade

(WDEF) – Valentine’s Day celebrations are a bit more expensive now than they were a decade ago.

InvestorsObserver compared Valentine gifts from 2016 to see how much.

Chocolate and a dinner for two have gone up the most.

A box of chocolates went up from $15 in 2016 to $50 in 2026.

The dinner has jumped from $90 to $209.

The costs of a dozen roses and diamond earrings haven’t gone up nearly as much.

Our tastes are also changing.

The report found that the most popular gift a decade ago was a box of chocolates.

Now it is just a greeting card.

A bottle of champagne made the list ten years ago, but has fallen off in 2026.
