Pro-Life and Pro-Choice rallies in the Scenic City

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Protesters all across the nation rallied to condemn Texas’ restrictions on abortions.

There was an abortion justice rally right here in the scenic city.

Hundreds of people gathered at Renaissance park and marched the streets of Downtown Chattanooga for women’s rights.

Organizers say that this is a time to clear any negativity that comes with abortions.

Kamari Sherard, who organized the rally, says, “Abortion stigma keeps us isolated and in the shadows. What we know is that 1 in 4 people will have an abortion in their lifetime. So, everyone loves someone who has had an abortion.”

Marchers say that the cases in Texas and Mississippi could jepordize Roe Vs Wade.

Down the street at the Hamilton County Courthouse, other Chattanoogans attended a Pro-life call to prayer.

Right to Life Chattanooga organized the event.

They say that Chattanooga has had 28 years with out an abortion clinic and they feel as though the city is a pro-life community.

They planned the prayer rally in response to the pro-choice rally.

Candy Clepper, with Greater Chattanooga Right to Life, says, “We believe that every human being, including the unborn has a right to life and we are committed to advocating to that and defending that.”

Right to Life Chattanooga says that they are hopeful that Roe vs Wade will be overturned.
