Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising protests Roe v. Wade
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Women’s March in protest of the overturning of Roe V. Wade was scheduled for earlier on Saturday.
Due to the chilling temperatures throughout the area, the turnout was not as expected.
Instead, a small number of anti-abortion protestors gathered in Coolidge Park to spread awareness on the heavy topic.
Students for Life of Southeast Tennessee made their presence known on a freezing day in Coolidge Park.
They braved the cold to make their voices heard in opposition of their pro-choice counterparts.
The Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) argues that third trimester abortion, along with abortion at any term is violence.
Spokesperson for the organizations, William Reynolds, went on to explain the passing of Roe V. Wade resulted in the killing of 63 million innocent human beings.
He said the cause of their organization is to bring awareness of the graphic reality of abortion in lieu of the 51st anniversary of the law. It was overturned in 2022 and has since received opposition from protestors across the nation.
“These children are the faces of the modern anti-abortion movement. And we want to show in every opportunity what exactly folks mean when they say, ‘My body. My choice.’ These are the faces of choice,” President of Students for Life of Southeast Tennessee, William Reynolds said.
In Chattanooga, the annual ‘Bigger Than Roe’ walk was not carried out across the walking bridge as intended.
When News 12 was on the scene, no opposition to the pro-life event was present.
