CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Get rid of the used, unused, and expired medicine taking up space in your medicine cabinet with the Hamilton County Coalition’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Most medicines should not be disposed by either throwing or flushing it away, and keeping expired, used, or unused drugs could unintentionally lead to drug abuse. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day gives people a chance to properly dispose their drugs to keep the environment safe and to prevent drug abuse. Last year, over 2000 lbs. of drugs were properly disposed.
At various locations in Chattanooga and in the Tennessee Valley Region, there will be stations accepting used, unused, expired medication, vape pens, and e-cigarettes on Saturday, April 26 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
Take care of the environment and prevent drug abuse by donating your medicine for proper disposal. To learn more about the event and where you can dispose your medicine, visit the Hamilton County Coalition website.
