Raid leads to more charges from the Mountain Mart gun robbery
Dustin Stephens now accused of breaking into gun store last December and selling them to Rick Dickerson
JASPER, Tennessee (WDEF) – Investigators are now ready to expand their case against Dustin Stephens.
He was originally charged with having one of the guns stolen from the Mountain Mart in December.
But a total of 28 firearms were taken during the robbery.
Marion County and state drug task force officers have been investigating the case.
They now believe Stephens was, in fact, the suspect in the camo, who broke into the gun store.
They say he then sold them to Rick Adam Dickinson the next day.
And that Dickinson has been selling them to people who regularly buy meth and heroin from him.
On Friday, officers searched Dickinson’s home in Monteagle.
They say they found some of the stolen guns, plus meth, heroin, stolen construction equipment and motorcycles.
Then Grundy County officers showed up and found more stolen goods from their jurisdictions.
Charges have been upgraded against Stephens, but the investigation still isn’t over.
Officials say not all of the stolen weapons have been recovered yet.
