Red Bank animal hoarding case
Red Bank, TN (WDEF) – Authorities uncover an extreme case of animal hoarding in Red Bank Friday.
The Humane Society seized at least 17 animals in the 3900 block of Oakland Terrace Road.
The call originated as a child welfare check, but the smell of ammonia prompted further investigation.
Executive Director Humane Educational Society Bob Citrullo says, "There was probably about four to five inches of filth on the bottom of the crates that these animals were standing in. As far as the care, the animals none of them are thin, they were being fed and watered it was just, it becomes overwhelming for people and this is what happens when you get into this situation."
Officials say the house was filled with debris.
