The city of Red Bank is creating a new municipal park that will include their first public basketball court.

This park will be located on an unused lot between Red Bank’s city hall and municipal court.

Red Bank’s City Manager, Martin Granum, says this new park plugs a major gap within the town.

Granum said, “It moves the needle rather extensively on the “ten minute walk to a park”, the walkability score. This particular project improves our score by 12 percent, which is rather astonishing for any single project to move a city’s walkability score by 12 percent. So this is really hitting the mark.”

Both towns must match the grants from their own funds.
