Red Bull TKO event held in Sequatchie over the weekend

SEQUATCHIE, Tenn. (WDEF) — A long weekend of hard enduro racing took over Sequatchie, Tennessee.

Riders from the amateur level all the way to professional competed in the races.

Red Bull Athlete, Cody Webb (USA) has been attending the event for over twenty years.

“I think it’s a really cool race. It gives some opportunities, some new riders to kind of make a name for themselves. It’s just a really cool atmosphere, very family-oriented sport. Most people think of motorcycles, and they think tattoos and Harley’s and bad guys from the past… But the motorcycle sport has changed drastically from those times,” Webb said.

The knockout hosted around 500 riders including both amateurs and domestic pros.

“Being from America it’s pretty special to have a bunch of these international guys on our home soil. They come to their race and afterwards they’re telling how it’s definitely one of the most enthusiastic biggest crowds of the year, so that helps say something and makes us feel good about motor sports here in the states… to have people come out and support us,” Webb said.

Webb said the spectator turnout has been great over the years and he looks forward to more events in the future.

The event was open to the public from August 18-20.

“We’ve got the best in the world here, so it’s a crazy spectacle and it’s kind of the only time that it’s in a spectator-friendly format style of racing. Because most people never get to see us. They see us once in three hours. Here it’s jam-packed action for most spectators,” Webb said.
