BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. (WDEF) — A mobile home in Hamilton County caught fire on Friday morning, and the homeowner called 911.

The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the house at 12496 Bettis Road and found heavy smoke coming out of the bedroom window.

The residents escaped the house without being injured, the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management (HCOEM) said.

Authorities are investigating to determine what caused the fire.

Highway 58 VFD said the fire started in the bedroom.

The house has $30,000 worth of damages, authorities stated.

The American Red Cross will be helping seven adults and two children, according to the HCOEM.
