Red Wolves Prepare to Face Old Nemesis in Greenville Triumph

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Chattanooga Red Wolves are currently tied for third place in the USL League one standings. If the Red Wolves plan on moving up in the league standings this weekend, they’ll have to get past an old nemesis in the Greenville Triumph.

When head coach Jimmy Obleda thinks about playing Greenville.
Said Obleda:”ooph”
Yeah ooph. Greenville has played in the last three USL League One championship games. They beat Chattanooga last year in the semifinals of the playoffs.
And…they also beat the Red Wolves in their first match-up this season.
Said Obleda:”Greenville is a very, very good team. Very disciplined. Very seasoned team. We have to be ready for their professionalism. Their discipline. Their dedication to sticking to their game plan.”
Said forward Rafa Mentzingen:”And this whole week was about us preparing for a team that will come and bring the bats on us for sure.”
Saturday starts a schedule grind for the Red Wolves.
Said Rafa:”Especially now this week that we have three games. We’re gonna need everyone. We’re ready to take those three battles and hopefully get nine points out of it.”
If Chattanooga secures those nine points, it would certainly solidify what the Red Wolves are looking to accomplish.
Said Obleda:”Not having our full roster. Not having. Some of the little difficulties we had at the beginning. I think little by little the group is improving. The team is getting better in our tactical demands and our functionality of each position, and what we are looking for. So the group is getting better. I think we’re in a great place. They see it. They see their improvement.”
With the holiday weekend, the Red Wolves expect another sell-out crowd on Saturday night. Should make for a playoff type atmosphere., even though the playoffs are a long ways off.
Said Obleda:”Again you don’t want to peak too early. It’s about peaking at the right time. I think we are taking little steps to getting to where we need to be and getting ourselves into that position to be in the playoffs and make it to the finals this season.”
