Red Wolves struggle to find back of net despite outshooting Central Valley Fuego

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)-Chattanooga Red Wolves fell short in a high-octane match against Central Valley Fuego, losing 2-1 at CHI Memorial Stadium.

Despite dominating possession and creating a club-record 23 shots, including nine from Mayele Malango alone, the Red Wolves were unable to secure a victory.

Fuego struck early, taking a 1-0 lead just eight minutes in. Chattanooga responded with an own goal in the 35th minute to level the score. However, Central Valley regained the lead in the second half and held on for the win.

The Red Wolves showcased attacking intent throughout the match, but were unable to capitalize on their numerous opportunities. New signing Tobi Jnohope and returning player Lucas Coutinho made their presence felt off the bench.

The loss splits the season series with Fuego as both teams now look ahead to their next matches.
