Remains found in Chattanooga identified as Georgia woman
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Skeletal remains found near the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga have been identified as a Georgia woman.
The Cobb County Police Department identified the remains as belonging to a missing 20-year-old woman from Alpharetta, Georgia.
Maury-Ange Faith Martinez went missing in August of 2023 in Gwinnett County, the police department stated. They said her last known location was in Cobb County, Georgia.
Her skeletal remains were then found on January 5, 2024, in a rural area in Chattanooga on Ferdinand Piech Way, police said.
Police are now investigating to determine who may have had contact with Martinez around the time of her disappearance. They ask anyone with information related to her case to come forward.
