Republican Lt. Governor race in Georgia finally conceeded

Burt Jones barely cleared the threshold for a runoff

GEORGIA (WDEF) – Candidate Butch Miller has conceded the race for the Republican nomination for Lt. Governor of Georgia.

‘I don’t know what God’s plan is for my future or how I might be of service to Him and my fellow man, but I rely upon Him’

Miller finished 20-percentage points behind front runner Burt Jones, but Jones barely cleared the bar for avoiding a runoff.

With 99% of the votes counted, he had 50.1% of the vote.  He had to get 50% plus one vote to avid the runoff.

Jones had already claimed victory in the race.

The Democrats were not so clear cut.

Kwanza Hall and Charlie Bailey will face off in a runoff on June 21st.

The winner will face Jones in November.
