Residents called 9-1-1 following the sound of an explosion in Ooltewah
The two-story house fire remains under investigation
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– At 8:30 pm Friday evening, an emergency call was made reporting a house fire in Ooltewah.
After hearing a loud explosion, residents called 9-1-1.
Tri-Community Volunteer Firefighters responded to 4717 Buckingham Drive within minutes.
Officials reported a two-story home with fire and heavy smoke showing from the garage.
Nearby residents informed the firefighters that the homeowners were not inside, so they immediately began attacking the fire from the inside- in order to contain it.
The volunteer fire department requested assistance from the Chattanooga Fire Department and the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department.
The Catoosa Co. Fire Department stood by for any additional emergency calls.
Damages are unknown at this time. The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Tri-Community VFD.
