Residents Displaced After Bonny Oaks House Fire

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a house fire around 9:15 Tuesday night at 7630 Austin Drive, in the Bonny Oaks area.

Fire crews reported most of the fire damage was to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage throughout the entire house.

Officials say the blaze broke out after the resident left cooking food unattended.

Damages to the home are estimated at $40,000.

The mother and daughter say they will be staying with family.

No injuries were reported.
