Rhea County woman charged in fentanyl death of Pikeville woman

RHEA COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Rhea County woman has been indicted and charged in the drug-related death of a Pikeville woman.

Pikeville police officers found 27-year-old Hailey Green deceased from an overdose in August 2022. They found her at a home on White Flats Road in Evensville.

TBI agents and Pikeville officers stated that Kayla P. Tinsley, 33, was responsible for distributing the fentanyl that resulted in Green’s death.

Then on April 1, a Rhea County grand jury indicted Tinsley on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of possession of schedule 2 controlled substance for resale.

On Tuesday, April 2, authorities arrested Tinsley and booked her into the Rhea County Jail on a $450,000 bond.
