Riceville Volunteer Fire Department awarded grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®

RICEVILLE, Tenn. — The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® recently awarded the Riceville Volunteer Fire Department a $34,098 grant to purchase a Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 NorthStar Edition and accessories, the Riceville Volunteer Fire Department says.

They say this grant will provide an off-road response vehicle that will decrease the response and rescue times of calls.

This will also provide transport of firefighters/rescuers and equipment to active scenes as well as assisting with removing victims from the situations they are in.

The donation will also provide fire suppression capabilities to locations that they may not be able to reach with other fire equipment.

“We are extremely grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs® restaurant in Athens for this vital support. Having reliable, up-to-date equipment enhances our ability to protect lives and better serve our community.”

– Brandon Ainsworth, Fire Chief, Riceville Volunteer Fire Department said.
