Ridgeland Coach Wesley Tankersley Likes Addition of Spring Football Game

High school football teams in Georgia will no longer have to wait until fall to play a live game.
The GHSA announced on Monday they will allow teams to play a spring football game starting in 2017.
Ridgeland head coach Wesley Tankersley likes the idea, and he plans to take advantage of the spring game next season.
Tankersley believes adding a spring game will benefit both the schools and the players.
Said Tankersley,”Hopefully for us we can find an old rivalry around here to scrimmage against and bring some money in for our school and their school as well. I think (the money) that’s a big deal for a lot of schools now. Just giving the kids something to look forward to at the end of those practices. Sometimes it’s kind of hard to get’em up for playing against themselves, which they have been doing anyway.”
