Ring, ring, ring! The Battle of the Bells is upon us!

Major Douglas McClure joins News 12’s Chip Chapman to ring in the last call for Angel Tree donations and to start ringing for Battle of the Bells donations.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Salvation Army is ringing their bells across the Scenic City to ring in the giving season.

The Angel Tree donations are due on December 13 at 1600 E 23rd Street, Chattanooga, TN. So far, only 40% of gifts have been processed.

There are still angels to adopt at Hamilton Place Mall, at various Walmarts, and online. It isn’t too late to help provide a memorable Christmas for a family in need.

For those who are not able to adopt an angel but would like to donate, the Battle of the Bells begins this week.

The Battle of the Bells is a friendly competition between Chattanooga’s three news stations, all competing to gather the most donations for the Salvation Army.

News 12 staff, including your favorite anchors, will be ringing those bells at the Hamilton Place Mall on Thursday, December 12 from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M.

There’s no need to wait to donate in support of the Salvation Army and News 12! Visit the the Salvation Army website or the News 12 website to start donating.

The donation funds go toward projects and services that aren’t funded by grants, so the Salvation Army can provide to our community in any manner they can.
