Ringgold Elementary School Students Lead Anti-Bullying Rally
Several students were elected by their classmates to lead an anti-bullying rally because they had a unique message to share.
Gunter Hullander, a student, says, "I was bullied a lot as a kid, and I thought it’s time to stop other people from feeling my pain."
Dixie Edmondson tells us she even had to switch schools because of bullies.
That’s why she’s a part of the anti-bullying club at Ringgold Elementary, lead in part by Greg Linderman, a teacher.
Linderman adds, "You’re starting to see more and more cyber bullying with Apps like snap chat where something comes on and goes away real quick. So, we’re addressing all those issues with our kids."
Linderman combines anti-bullying and mindset programs to combat this now nationwide problem.
Linderman adds, "We want them to become students of honor, integrity, to understand why they’re making these choices to be tolerant, to be kind."
And when students change their mindset, Linderman says, you’ll see a change in the school system.
Linderman adds, "These are the kids and children of our future and we really do need to step in and try to make a difference."
Linderman hopes the rally will prompt dozens of students to join their anti-bullying club at the school.
