Ringgold haunted house gives to St. Jude

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Deep in the hills of Ringgold lies a spooky oasis.

Scares for all ages round every corner.

“When we first moved here we didn’t get many trick or treaters because we are kind of out here in the middle of nowhere. We started adding more to our decorations. We found the Skeletons of St. Jude’s so we partnered with those guys,” Adam Lingle, owner of the haunted walkthrough, said.

However there is more than scares. There set up also supports families at St. Jude with donations.

“It also goes to families’ hospital stays and paying all of that for families,” Adam’s wife Shelby Lingle said.

Their collection has grown immensely over the years.

“It went from being in our back room to us renting a storage building out to store everything. We have quite a bit,” Adam Lingle said.

“It started with our one twelve foot Skelton and we had a few decorations and every year we grew from there,” Shelby Lingle added.

And their setup gets quite the reaction.

“Usually the pizza delivery guys and amazon delivery guys are pretty shocked. Everyone stops and takes pictures. We probably get about 10 to 15 cars on the weekend,” Adam Lingle said.

The Lingles are happy they can give back to their community and St. Jude’s

“We’ve always wanted to share Halloween with everybody. It’s not something that is scary but can be fun for the kids too. What we’ve seen with our kids is that we can’t take them to a lot of places, because it is super scary, so we kind of do both. For our little one especially our four year old and other people that have little ones as well. It’s what started everything,” said Shelby Lingle.

The haunted walkthrough has been opened for the whole month. This weekend they will be giving out candy along with Halloween.
