Ringgold house fire claims woman’s life, injures two
RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) — A Ringgold house fire claimed the life of one woman and injured two others early this morning.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., Catoosa County E-911 received a call from a neighbor reporting the house next door was on fire.
Crews with the Catoosa County Fire Department (CCFD) were dispatched to 113 Garden Grove lane.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire and smoke throughout most of the home.
According to CCFD, the homeowner was outside the residence with visible injuries to his hands.
He then told firefighters that his wife was still inside the structure.
The woman’s brother was also outside the residence with severe burn injuries.
CCFD crews made an attempt to rescue the woman, but was found in a bedroom deceased.
The husband and brother received these injuries in an attempt to save the woman during the fire.
The brother was later transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The husband declined declined treatment on scene.
The Red Cross was dispatched to the scene to assist the homeowner with immediate needs.
CCFD stated the condition of the brother is unknown.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
