Ringgold Looks to Get Past Old Nemisis Columbus in State Playoffs

Ringgold, GA-(WDEF-TV) The Georgia high school state baseball playoffs continue for Ringgold Saturday.
The Tigers look to get past an old nemesis.

Ringgold hosts Columbus in the best two-out-of three series.  Columbus swept Ringgold for the state crown in 2012, and the Blue Devils also beat Ringold for the 2010 state title. Columbus owns 12 state championships, so it’s a powerhouse program to say the least.

Said Ringgold coach:” To go through a team like Columbus, and what we’ve faced in the past it only makes sense that they are in our way to get there. Knowing our tradtion and knowing our programs tradition. We’re trying to get to that state championship here and we’re trying to get to that first state championship. They were one of the big road blocks that were in our way.”>
