Ringgold Man Pleads Guilty to Overtime Wage Theft
The Northern District of Georgia says that 48-year-old Donny Campbell of Ringgold, Georgia has pleaded guilty to theft of government funds for submitting false overtime entries on his timesheets.
Campbell is a former maintenance department employee at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.
Information presented in court shows that Campbell submitted timesheets claiming overtime pay for hundreds of hours that he did not work from January 2017 to June 2019, according to U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg.
Nearly $40,000 of wrongful payments were found.
As part of his plea agreement, Campbell agreed to resign, never seek any future federal employment, and pay full restitution to the U.S. Department of the Interior, the Northern District of Georgia says.
He pleaded guilty on October 2, 2025, to theft of government funds and his sentencing is scheduled for January 23, 2026.
This case is being investigated by the Department of the Interior – Office of the Inspector General.
