Ringgold Ready to Take the Field With ‘Blue Grit’
Ringgold, GA-(WDEF-TV) Ringgold posted a 6-5 record last year in Austin Crisp’s first season as head coach.
Now the Tigers are looking to take it to another level this fall.
Ringgold enjoys the 30-in-30 spotlight.
Hey Haddon Fries. What y’all got on offense this year?
Said Fries:”We’ve just got play-makers all over the field.”
Head coach loves hearing that.
But it’s one type of play-maker that Austin Crisp can’t wait to unleash.
Said Crisp:”I’ve never had a tight end until really halfway through last year, and I’ve got one this year. We’re going to use him. I’m very excited about that.”
Said quarterback Garrett Edgar:”I think our tight ends are so good. You can’t put them on a corner because they’re too big. They’re both very fast to be tight ends.”
Besides new tight ends, the Tigers have a new motto with bravado.
Blue Grit.
Said Edgar:”Grit is one of our new slogans. We don’t have the biggest guys like we did last year. Last year I think we took for granted how good we were with size.”
Said Fries:”I don’t think size matters. When you ball, you ball.”
To sharpen the defense, Coach Crisp likes to play a game with his coordinator called, what do you hate?
Said Crisp:”What do you hate when you see this. And he’ll ask me what do you hate when you see this. We’re able to bounce ideas off each other. Helps us in the long run.”
